Soccer night in pouch cove

The teams: The young bucks - Al(36), David (19), Ian (19), Alex (16), Rochelle(14), Emily(13) (Urb in net) The geriatrics - Chris(52), Rodger(46), Andrew(48), Ken(49) Methuselah(969).

It was a spirit match with end to end action. It was the young bucks (36 and under) versus the geriatrics (37 and over). The young side had youth, skill, beauty, grace, stanima, strategy and speed. The old side, well they cheated. To the left is me in the backfield, David playing up and Rodger pressing the attack. Rodger looks completely lost and is hoping that the oxygen will show up soon.
Hey look Neo is playing.

One drink

I found this very funny

Omega Park

We went to Omega Park in Quebec near Montebello. It had a lot of fun things to do. I thought the wolves were the best. These are artic wolves and you just think they are big dogs but when you see them in person they are more like small horses.

These are the black bears. The mother is 400lbs(~220 kgs). Some guy thought it would be fun to get out and show his kid a close view of the bears. A cub came down to investigate and was quickly followed by the mother. I was expecting it to be some scene out of the movie "The Edge" with Anthony Hopkins. Anyway, the park rangers showed up like an FBI invasion and ushered them back into their truck.

This is Grace in Suzanne's and Rodger's new pool. The house is awesome.

Jack doing what he loves best.

A nice picture of Claire, Gerry and Grace

That's it for today. I just finished watching the movie "The Bothers Grim". A decent flick if you like mindless dribble.

The fireworks show

Every August there is a fireworks competition (Sound of Light) at the Lac Lemey casino in Gatineau. We went on the last day (the finale) to see a great show. The picture to the left is a bunch of the kids swining glow rod toys around. The show was very impressive. There was a few technical glitches at the begining but they sorted them out.

And no Gerry, I don't think you have been eating to much since you got here.

Talan Gets peral harboured

Talan, Grace and Jack playing in the water. Watch the little f*****r in blue at the end of the video almost taking Grace out. He was crazy, runnin around kicking all the equipment in the park. I should of told Talan to murderlize him.

Parliament hill 3

Here is V behind the parliament buildings overlooking the museum of Civilization. She looks pretty good here. Jack and V had a funny picture from a gazebo (below)

Parliament hill 2

Parliament hill

We went to the lights and sound show at the parliament building in the nations capital. To the left we have V and Jack walking across the hill. In the background can be seen one of the offices for the lesser politicians and support staff. The picture below is Grace and Talon running away from the camera.

This is a photo of the Chateau Laurier (a great place for afternoon tea according to V). This is Claire and Devon with some tall chick who hung out on the hill and didn't say alot.

A great picture of the kids and flowers

Tour boat in NFLD

Sorry for the delay, but things have been very busy. Gerrard, Claire and Talon just left. I am downloading a bunch of pictures but I am going to add a few more from Newfoundland. This picture was taken in Conception Bay South. A beautiful fishing boat in the background.

We then went to Bell Island on the Ferry. It was a very windy day but the seas were calm as a bath tub. We drove pretty well onto the ferry without any wait but the return trip had a massive queue (I think we waited for at least an hour and a half). Instead of waiting in the car, I took Jack and Grace down the hill (quite the walk with both in my arms). Anyway we walked to the beach and played around with the beach rocks. After a few minutes I looked up and what did I see but a pod of whales. I didn't have the camera with me so I missed them. The following picture is a shot of us on the ferry going to Bell Island.

The Astor boat is part of the Transocean Tours cruise ship line. It was massive in the St. John's harbour.

A quite night

Well V worked last night. She left at 10:30pm as opposed to 6:30pm but she didn't want to go. She is off for a few days now and we have a lot of things planned to do in Ottawa. I still have many pictures to plow through to set up here but I ran outta steam last night.

Newfoundland has definitely changed. St. John's is a very metropolitan city now and high fashion is very prevalent. Lots o' good looking well dressed business people walking around. George Street is the same as usual and the George Street festival was in high gear.

We walked around the downtown core and there were many cruise ships in the harbor.
The amount of high quality art shops was staggering. A new Keg restaurant has opened on the waterfront and probably has the best view of the harbor (as well as the battery hotel).

There is definitely a lot to see and do in town now. There are multiple whale watching tours from St. John's harbour, lots of art stores and shopping opportunities. The food is always plentiful and pleasant.

Here are the kids doing the pony rides. Grace really loved it. Newfoundland has a lot of tourist attractions now. Great eating, good shopping and great things to see on the rock.

We went whale watching with the Obrien's whale tour from Bay Bulls. It was a beauutiful day with temperatures at around 25C . We did see lots of birds however and the trip was fun.
